Jinnah’s hologram tours Kasur with message of unity
KASUR: A life-size hologram of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah set out on a two-day tour of the city where it will ‘deliver’ some of the Quaid’s popular speeches.
On Saturday, the hologram was projected at Baldia Chowk, National Bank Chowk, and railway station in front of hundreds of people, some of whom claimed to have witnessed the technology for the first time. Jinnah’s speeches on religious freedom and equal representation of women in society were projected through the hologram, a press release stated.
In the first phase, the hologram will tour Jhang, Karachi and Swat after Kasur to spread the message of the Quaid among as many people as possible. It is a project of Hive Pakistan, a social development company, under its campaign titled ‘Aik -- Better Together’ to strengthen a sense of unity amongst people beyond religious divide.
“This hologram screening is an amazing way to create awareness among small communities such as Kasur because people don’t usually have access to internet or libraries. Jinnah himself talking to us felt more real and intimate,” said a visitor, Yaseen Ali.
The purpose of this project is not only restricted to hologram screenings, but it will also organise workshops for community leaders, youth and women to reinforce values of inclusiveness, women’s empowerment, religious harmony and equality.
“We wish to propagate Jinnah’s vision of a plural Pakistan to every village and city of Pakistan for it is very important that we as a nation take measures to prevent our social fabric from being destroyed by extremists,” said Maha Usman, a representative of Aik — Better Together.
