Data Ganj Bakhsh's 975th annual Urs begins in Lahore

Chief Justice Saqib Nisar on Sunday inaugurated the 975th annual Urs of Hazrat Ali bin Usman Al-Hajveri, popularly known as Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA) at Data Darbar in Lahore.

“Islam gives a message to serve people and to create facilities for them,” Nisar said.

The chief justice said there were a number of things in the country which needed to be corrected, “we have to express our love for the country by discharging our duties honestly”.

“I feel as now Pakistan is heading forward and if collective efforts will be made with sincerity, the country will soon achieve the goal of development”, he said.

CJP Nisar congratulated the organisers for making good arrangements for the event.

The chief justice laid traditional Chadar on the grave of the sufi saint. Later, prayer was offered for peace, progress, and prosperity of the country.

Thousands of people travel from all over Pakistan to attend the celebrations which last for three days.
