Sewage and Gwadar

I RECENTLY visited Gwadar for some official work and stayed at a roadside hotel near the coastline. What I saw while strolling along the beach was that numerous sewerage lines, both from houses and hotels, were releasing untreated sewage directly into the sea.

This is a serious issue which can endanger our aquatic life and should be stopped immediately. I request the federal, provincial governments and Gwadar Development Authority to take immediate action by introducing a proper mechanism to the local community before our waters get polluted even more.

The Chinese companies working along our coastal belt in connection with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor should also intervene and introduce better measures.
