Tehrik-i-Istaqlal backs demand for more LHC benches

LAHORE: Tehrik-i-Istaqlal has supported the lawyers demand for setting up more Lahore High Court benches outside the Punjab capital to facilitate both the litigants and their counsels.

At a press conference here on Sunday, party president Rehmat Khan Wardag said his party had been demanding for the last many years that the LHC benches should be set up at each divisional headquarters so that the litigants as well as lawyers won’t have to travel hundreds of kilometers to join proceedings of their cases.

He, however, condemned the law professionals who indulged in hooliganism while demanding the LHC benches at Faisalabad and Sargodha.
