Mingora tehsil council okays Rs595m budget
MINGORA: The tehsil council of Mingora approved unanimously its Rs595.893576 million budget here on Thursday. The budge was presented by tehsil nazim Ikram Khan in the council.
The budget session was presided over by convener Fazal Hameed Khan. Tehsil councillors Shahid Ali Khan, Dr Khalid Mehmood, Advocate Akhtar Khan, Haji Mohammad Anwar, Umar Rabi, Bakht Munir Khan, Gohar Ali Khan and others took part in the budget debate. They discussed different aspects of the budget before its approval.
The councillors demanded of the authorities to expedite work on the new fruits and vegetables market and bus stands. They said that traffic issues were getting worse in Mingora.
They said that vegetables market in the centre of Mingora and general bus stand should be shifted outside the city.
They said that construction work on municipal plaza was completed more than three years before but it was still non-functional. “Concrete steps should be taken to make the plaza functional so that its earnings could be spent on the developmental projects in Mingora,” said the councillors.
They also criticised Water and Sanitation Services Company failed to address public issues in Mingora.
Tehsil nazim Ikram Khan said that it was the last budget of the council. He said that the council performed its responsibilities in the interest of the people of Mingora tehsil
He said that Rs125.337569 million would be spent on salaries, Rs197.093012 million on charged expenses and Rs358.05000 million on others expenses while Rs237.657995 million were allocated for development schemes in the budget.
The nazim said that his team was committed to the development of the tehsil. “We will soon call another meeting in which all the issues of the tehsil will be discussed in detail and applicable plans for the solution of the issues will be devised,” he said.
