100 days of PTI govt a failure: ex-CJP
ATTOCK: Pakistan Justice and Democratic Party president and former chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry said the first 100 days of the PTI government were a failure.
The government has done nothing so far. The activities of land mafia still continue unchecked while the anti-encroachment campaign has only ruined the life of poor traders, said Mr Chaudhry while talking to this correspondent during a visit to the residence of late senior lawyer Sheikh Mohammad Ejaz Siddiqui to condole his death.
He criticised the ‘U-turn’ idea of Prime Minister Imran Khan, adding the rulers were taking the nation to wrong side.
The former chief justice said the government should provide an alternative space to all those traders whose structures and businesses were being removed.
He also said his party would participate in the forthcoming local government elections. He was of the view that Pakistan needs a presidential system so that public representatives could only concentrate on legislation to strengthen institutions.
Focal person for Justice and Democratic Party Sheikh Ahsanuddin Advocate, president District Bar Association Malik Israr Ahmad, former bar presidents Rana Afsar Ali Khan, Syed Tahir Bukhari and others accompanied the former chief justice.
