Winning start for Pakistan at Asian Jr Squash

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan team took a fine start to the 19th Asian Junior Squash Championship notching up two back-to-back victories in Pattaya, Thailand on Wednesday.

According to the information received here, Pakistan in their first pool match earned a convincing 3-0 win against Chinese Taipei.

Farhan Hashmi easily defeated Huang Liang 11-3, 11-2, 11-4; Abbas Zeb thrashed Chenwun-Lin 11-2, 11-7, 11-0 in the second encounter while Haris Qasim outplayed Cho Ching 11-3, 11-2, 11-1 in the third match.

In their second pool match, Pakistan blanked Sri Lanka 3-0.

Abbas overwhelmed Tuwin Osanda 11-4, 11-4, 11-5; Haris outclassed Druvinka Manura 11-5, 11-3, 11-4 and Hamza Khan beat Hashen Demantah 11-3, 11-9, 11-6.

Pakistan take on Korea and traditional rivals India in their third and fourth matches at the championship.
