CM promises to make Mianwali model district
MIANWALI: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said on Saturday he would make Mianwali a model district.
During a day-long visit to the district, he also announced steps to improve facilities for the common man.
“This is the hometown of my leader Imran Khan and we are considering various projects of health, education and other sectors,” he said.

The chief minister also visited the Central Jail and suspended Deputy Superintendent Mohammad Zaman from service on the complaints of the inmates.
He said a report about a medical college in Mianwali was awaited and the project would be implemented in near future. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan would visit Mianwali on Jan 27 to attend the ground-breaking ceremony of Children’s Hospital.
He said he would approve a permanent campus of the University of Sargodha and ensure provision of more facilities. He said Mianwali-Talagang and Mianwali-Muzaffargarh roads would be improved.
Mr Buzdar said he had ordered officials to provide furniture in the schools. He said he had been informed that the employees of the public health department had not been paid salaries and he had ordered issuance of pays without delay.
The chief minister was given the guard of honour at Police Lines where he laid wreaths at the monument.
Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, Minister for Forest Raja Basharat, Chief Secretary Yousaf Naseem Khokar, IGP Amjad Javed Saleemi besides secretaries of various departments accompanied the chief minister. MPAs Abdul Rehman Khan, Ameenullah Khan, Malik Ahmed Khan Bhachar, Sardar Sibtain Khan and MNA Amjad Khan were also present.
Sargodha Division Commissioner Mahmood Hassan and Mianwali Deputy Commissioner Shoaib Jadoon briefed the chief minister on various development projects of the district.
The CM also visited the DHQ hospital and announced provision of an MRI machine. A handout said the chief minister inaugurated the polio campaign after administrating drops to children at the hospital.
Among other measures he announced the status of tehsil for Daudkhel and setting up of two Rescue 1122 centres. He also promised that an embankment near Sher Shah Suri Road would be made to control erosion caused by the Indus.
Later, presiding over another meeting to review law and order in Sargodha, the chief minister directed the officials to launch a special campaign to arrest absconders. He said another campaign should be launched against those who own illegal weapons.
