Pakistan team seize Asian Jr Squash title

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan defeated arch-rivals India 2-0 at the Asian Junior Squash Championship final in Pattaya, Thailand.In the first match of the final, Pakistan’s Mohammad Farhan Hashmi beat Veer Chotrani 2-11, 11-9, 11-7, 5-11, 11-9. Abbas Zeb then outplayed India’s Utrkash 11-4, 11-2, 11-6 to help Pakistan clinch the title in style.

Meanwhile, Chief of Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, who is also president of the Pakistan Squash Federation, congratulated the junior national team on winning the Asian title.

While lauding Pakistan’s victory against India in the final, the PSF president appreciated the untiring efforts of the team’s coaching staff and the federation to train the players on international standards.
