Students demand PMDC recognition of Khairpur college

KHAIRPUR: Medical students and civil society activists held a demonstration here on Sunday for the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) recognition of the Khairpur Medical College (KMC).

The protesters expressed their deep concern over unavailability of essential facilities at the college despite passage of five years, saying that the provincial government was paying no heed to their protests over the situation. They said that the future of 500 students of the college was hanging in the balance. Students and employees of the college, as well as doctors and paramedical staff of the Civil Hospital Khairpur had been holding protests for three weeks but government did not take any notice, they added.
