CTD man shot dead in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Unknown assailants martyred a personnel of the Counter-Terrorism Department here on Tuesday, police said.

According to first information report, head constable of CTD Mohammad Kamran was on duty when he came under fire in Qurishian Street in the jurisdiction of the city police station. The head constable was on his motorbike when unknown attackers opened fire at him.

He received fatal injuries and died while being taken to hospital. The attackers fled the scene.

Police registered a case against unknown persons. The body of slain constable was shifted to the police lines.

Senior police and military officers attended the funeral prayers of the slain policeman.

Police said that cartridges of 9mm pistol had been recovered from the spot.

Statements of eyewitnesses were also recorded, but no arrest had so far been made.
