Shahbaz, mother, Maryam meet Nawaz
LAHORE: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s mother Shamim Akhtar, brother Shahbaz Sharif and daughter Maryam Nawaz met him at the Jinnah Hospital here on Thursday.
As Thursday was the day to see the prisoner (Sharif) no other PML-N leader was allowed by the administration to meet him because of his health condition.
The Sharif family is indecisive about giving a go ahead for the angiography of Mr Sharif.
The five-member special medical board of the Jinnah Hospital that examined Mr Sharif submitted its report to the Punjab government recommending his angiography. It also said: “The patient (Sharif), 69, needs cardiac catheterization, for further management, in view of his symptoms of angina.
Because of longstanding history of comborbities and complicated cardiac surgical history, a nephrologist and cardiac surgical back-up is recommended during the cath.”
Mr Sharif, who is serving a seven-year imprisonment in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills corruption case, was shifted to hospital on Friday last from Kot Lakhpat jail for cardiac treatment.
