Swabi activist begins peace march
SWABI: Khan Parosh Kaka, a peace activist, started his ‘peace march’ from Swabi to Karachi on his bicycle on Saturday with a desire to see good working relations between India and Pakistan.
Representatives of civil society and traders had gathered at Karnal Sher Khan Chowk to give him a warm send-off.
They lauded his determination to work for peace in the sub-continent, which was on the edge of war due to the Indian aggression despite numerous peace overtures made by Pakistani leaders and release of the Indian pilot.
Parosh Kaka belongs to a respectable family of Chota Lahor, a sub-tehsil of the district. He said that he was embarking on the journey with the desire for peace and tranquility in the South Asian region and good working relations between India and Pakistan.

He said that peace was the prerequisite for development and economic prosperity while war was no solution to any problem as it left behind destruction, poverty, diseases, etc. He said that the advocates of peace and prosperity should play their due role to defuse the tensions in the region.
As a peaceful citizen, Parosh Kaka wants to play his role for promotion of peace. He says he wants other people and leaders in the two neighbouring countries to make serious efforts for peace.
He appealed to the rulers of the two countries to show restraint and learn from the past mistakes.
Answering a question, he said that his peace journey would culminate at the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah on March 23.
Rohul Amin, a civil society activist, said that it was his determination and strong love for peace that motivated Parosh Kaka to embark on the ‘peace march’. “We appreciate his intentions,” he said.
