Siraj visits border areas

GUJRAT: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Emir Sirajul Haq on Tuesday visited the border areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Bhimbher district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) adjacent to Gujrat district and expressed solidarity with the locals affected by the bombing from the Indian side.

Flanked by JI’s AJK Emir Khalid Mahmood, North Punjab Emir Dr Tariq Saleem and Amirul Azeem, the JI chief also distributed blankets and packs of daily-use items among the families in Burnala, Moil and other areas close to the Samahni sector on Pakistani side of LoC.

While speaking at a gathering of affected families, Mr Haq said that the philosophy of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi revolved around hatred aimed at benefiting politically in the upcoming general elections.

He said he was visiting the border villages to encourage the Kashmiris that they were not alone in striving for freedom from India and that 220 million Pakistanis stood with them.

“India’s policy of hatred and aggression against its neighbours is actually a threat to global peace,” said Mr Haq, adding that Kashmir was not only a piece of land, but an ideology.

He commended the Pakistan Army’s strategy due to which India’s war hysteria had been given a befitting response as per the whims and wishes of the nation.

Earlier, on his way to AJK, the JI chief also stopped at Ladian village in Kharian where he offered fateha at the mausoleum of Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed.
