LAHORE: A play written by Willy Russell and directed by Dawar Lashari continues to attract large audiences at Alhamra, The Mall.
Blood Brothers was being staged from March 1 to 10 in collaboration with the Lahore Arts Council.
After the hit musical comedy Date Night, Dawar Lashari is back with another musical drama. It is a story of twin brothers who are separated at birth and how their lives unfold henceforth. With live singing, revolving sets and multiple dance routines, Blood Brothers is the perfect combination of lighthearted comedy, drama and emotion.
The cast includes some very talented actors; the characters exhibit myriads of emotions -- maternal instincts to brotherhood, unrequited love to jealousy, friendship to envy. It takes the audience on an enthralling journey and keeps them hooked till the end.
The cast included known names of theatre world, including Ian Eldred, Rasti Farooq, Abdullah Ghazanfar, Iman Shahid, Waleed Zaidi, Huzaifa Akbar, Omer Cheema and Mahnoor Yawar.
Eldred was rather exceptional, while Rasti and Iman also did a great job. Due credit must be given to director Lashari for his mature direction that was evident from the play.
The four-act play was spontaneous and well managed. Minute details were highlighted in every scene by the director.
