PU holds Web of Science Conference

LAHORE: Punjab University Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology, in collaboration with Advancements in Life Sciences (journal) and Congress of Molecular Biology, on Monday organised ‘Web of Science Conference’.

The conference themed on ‘International Scholarly Publishing from Pakistan: Framework for Fast-Paced Progress’ was inauguratd by Prof Dr Mukhtar Ahmad.

CEMB Director Dr Tayyab Husnain, Prof Dr Idrees Ahmad Nasir, foreign delegate from Clarivate Analytics, along with participants from more than 100 national universities and journals were present.

Dr Husnain said the conference was organised to provide a platform to scientists, researchers and journal editors to discuss the modern approaches in academic publishing. He said it was the time to focus on the methods and tools to cultivate academic publishers who could successfully meet the challenges in the scholarly communications system.

Clarivate Analytics member Faisal Mahmood giving introduction of his organisation said it was a global leader in providing university rankings, journals impact factors and analytics and was for the first time visiting Pakistan.
