Imam apologises to Watson over spat in PSL final

KARACHI: Pakistan and Peshawar Zalmi opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq, who had landed in hot waters after he gave Quetta Gladiators’ Shane Watson a rude send-off in the final of the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has tendered an apology to the Aussie all-rounder for the spat.

Imam took to the twitter to apologise to Watson for the verbal spat during the PSL final at the National Stadium in Karachi on Sunday.

Imam said: “Yesterday’s incident happened in the heat of the moment. My reaction to Watson’s inappropriate abusive comments was avoidable, for which I apologise.”

The Peshawar Zalmi opening batsman further said, “It was a good match and a great HBL PSL 2019, let’s enjoy its success. Congrats to Gladiators and Watson for the trophy and awards.”

The incident happened in the 3rd over when Shane Watson was run out and given a send-off by Imamul Haq. Imam pointed him towards the dressing room and both of them exchanged words.
