Bilawal to lead Karachi-Pindi train march, says Khuhro
LARKANA: Pakistan Peoples Party Sindh president Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has questioned the rationale behind transferring money-laundering cases filed against the party leadership to Rawalpindi courts and termed it an attempt to repeat PPP’s history vis-a-vis that city.
Mr Khuhro said at a press conference after chairing a meeting of mazar committee at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto on Friday that when cases were registered in Sindh they should logically be heard here and should not have been transferred to another province.
“We are not afraid of courts but still we repeat that the cases should have been heard in Sindh,” he said.
Tells workers PPP ready to take PTI govt head-on to foil ‘conspiracy’
He accused federal government of hatching conspiracies against PPP leadership and claimed that the party had been deliberately confined to certain provinces under a deep-rooted conspiracy.
He wondered why party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari was being dragged into a case which allegedly belonged to the time when he was just one year old.
Mr Khuhro asked workers to be ready for launching the campaign to demonstrate power and said political heat had been raised in hot season and PPP was fully prepared to take the challenge head-on.
He said the party had decided to launch a vigorous mass contact campaign to face prevailing conditions. The party’s chairman would arrive in Larkana from Karachi via train on March 26 after making brief stopovers at Rohri, Sukkur and Habib Kot, he said, adding that he would be accorded warm welcome at the stations en route where he would address workers.
He said the scheduled train march would start soon and would culminate in Rawalpindi.
The meeting had decided to make a show of power on April 4 on the occasion of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s 40th death anniversary, he said.
He said the public meeting would start at around 3pm in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto where all arrangements had been made to facilitate participants. Bilawal and the party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari along with other central and provincial leaders would address the gathering, said Mr Khuhro.
PPP MNAs Khursheed Junejo, Ms Naseeban Channa, Gul Mohammad Jakhrani, Aijaz Jakhrani, PPP Larkana district president Abdul Fatah Bhutto, Hizbullah Bughio, Sohrab Sarki, deputy commissioner and SSP along with other officials concerned and party leaders attended the meeting of mazar committee.
