Permanent bosses appointed to Abbottabad MTI
ABBOTTABAD: The Ayub Medical Teaching Institution, Abbottabad, has got permanent hospital director, medical director and dean for five years term.
The board of governors of the AMTI made the appointments.
A statement released here announced that retired Brigadier Mustehsen Raza Khan was made the hospital director, Prof Ahsan Aurangzeb medical director and Prof Umer Farooq the dean and chief executive of the institution in line with the rules and regulations after their posts were advertised in national newspapers.
It added that the candidates shortlisted after strict scrutiny were called for interviews, which lasted two days.
“We have taken a long time to make these appointments to ensure merit and transparency,” said board chairman Dr Asim Yousuf.
He said hospital director retired Brigadier Mustehsen Raza Khan had extensive experience of hospital administration.
The statement said Prof Ahsan Aurangzeb, head of the neurosurgical department, was an interim medical director for six months before he had been made the medical director, who would manage the institution’s clinical development and supervise the matters related to diagnosis, treatment and patient care.
It added that Dr Umer Farooq, a professor of community medicines and a member of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council’s top decision-making body, had vast academic and administrative experience.
He earlier worked as the institution’s interim dean and hospital director for six months.
