Rally against Quetta blast

LAHORE: A large number of workers held a protest rally on Tuesday to condemn the Quetta blast which claimed many precious lives.

The workers belonging to trade unions of Wapda, Railways, Telecommunication, Transport, Textile, Irrigation and PWD protested on Nisbat Road under the aegis of the All Pakistan Workers Confederation and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families, says a press release.

The workers carrying banners and flags urged the government to extend all moral and material support to the victims of terrorism.

They also demanded the prime minister reduce prices of daily use items besides raising wages and fringe benefits of government, semi-government, industrial and bank employees in the coming budget.

The rally was led by trade union leader General Secretary Khurshid Ahmed, President Rubina Jamil, Additional General Secretary Akber Ali Khan, Osama Tariq, Chaudhry Anwar Gujjar (Railways), Hussan Muhammad Rana (PTCL), Khushi Muhammad Khokhar, Niaz Khan and Salahuddin Ayubi.
