HYDERABAD: GOC inspects Indus Bund

HYDERABAD, July 13: Hyderabad GOC Maj-Gen Mohammad Mustafa visited the Indus River protective bund at Bhanote, some 80 kilometres off here, on Wednesday. According to an ISPR press release, the GOC inspected the protective bund and directed irrigation officials to remain vigilant and alert round-the-clock.

It was observed that presently no serious situation existed at the Bhanote bund where the water discharge was approximately 120,000 cusecs.

Authorities briefed the GOC on the current flood situation and the state of their preparedness to meet any flood threat. Army officials from the Hyderabad garrison and senior officials of the civil administration accompanied the GOC.—Bureau
