Former member of peace committee killed in IED blast

GHALANAI: A former member of a local peace committee was killed when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Ambar tehsil of Mohmand tribal district on Tuesday, official sources said.

They said that Umar Said was going to Ambar at around 6.20am when the IED planted in the Sra Sha Sangar area exploded, killing him on the spot.

After the incident, members of security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation, but no arrest was made till the filing of this report.
