Kin of Sahiwal tragedy victims announce protest

LAHORE: The relatives of Khalil Ahmad, who was allegedly shot dead along with his wife and minor daughter by the Counter Terrorism Department during operation in Sahiwal, have announced a protest outside the Punjab Assembly tomorrow (Saturday).

Khalil’s brother Jalil Ahmad released a video message saying that the federal and provincial governments failed to address their legitimate demands, forcing them to take to the streets.

He said the decision was taken after Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar failed to address their three demands.

The demands included formation of the judicial commission into the Sahiwal tragic incident, transfer of CTD case to Lahore and cancellation of FIR lodged by the CTD against the victim’s family.

“After a lapse of three and half months, no significance response was given by the competent government authorities towards our legitimate demands,” Mr Jalil said.
