LAHORE: Haseebullah’s impressive century guided Pakistan U-16 team to a consolation 29-run victory against their Bangladesh counterparts in the third and final one-day match at Khulna on Wednesday.
Bangladesh had already seized the series by winning the first two one-dayers.
Haseeb smashed a 141-ball 129 laced with 11 fours and four sixes to help Pakistan post a healthy 279 for eight in the stipulated 50 overs. The second best scorer for Pakistan was Sameer Saqib (64 of 84 balls). Shamsul Islam Epon claimed five wickets for 45 while in-form Mahfuzur Rahman Rabbi grabbed 3-44.
In reply, Bangladesh could reach 250 all out in 47.5 overs as only Sakib Shahriar (60) and Mahfuzur (46) batted well. Aseer Mughal (3-37) and Farhad Khan (3-52) were the main wicket-takers for Pakistan.
Earlier on the tour, Pakistan had also lost a two-match series of three-dayer 0-1.
