Seven hospitalised after consuming toxic food

MUZAFFARGARH: Seven people of a family became unconscious in Shahjamal Basti Balochan when they ate dry saag in an iftar meal on Sunday and were admitted to the Muzaffargarh District Headquarters Hospital for treatment on Monday morning.

Rescue 1122 said the family of Ramzan Khan consumed dry saag and passed out.

Rescuers shifted Ramzan Khan, Gulshan Bibi, Basra Bibi and Wazeeran Mai and minors Wajid, Sajid and Noor Fatima to the hospital on Monday morning.

Punjab Food Authority officials have taken food sample for laboratory check. Doctors said the condition of patients was stable.

RESCUED: Police rescued a woman and her three children from kidnappers on Monday.

The Mahmoodkot police received a complaint that Pathani Mai and her three children had been kidnapped. Station House Officer Azhar Haider traced them in Bahawalpur and arrested the captors.

The police said that on the instructions of District Police Officer Sadiq Dogar, the Chowk Qureshi police and the Muzaffargarh City police arrested smugglers of liquor and seized 500 litres of local and foreign liquor from them.
