2 journalists held in raids on papers
A police official said the action had been taken in compliance with directives of higher authorities.
In a raid on the office of weekly Wujood on Elander Road, police picked up its editor Mohammad Tahir and lodged him at the Artillery Maidan police station.
Police claimed that the weeklies contained articles which could incite sentiments of people against other religions and cultures. City police chief Tariq Jamil said police had also raided the office weekly Ghazi off Tipu Sultan Road and daily Ummat near the National Hockey Stadium. No arrest was made.
