Five arrested in Charsadda killings case
CHARSADDA: The Charsadda police on Sunday arrested five persons for being involved in killing of three brothers in Umarzai area recently.
Landlord Nadar Khan, who is the main accused in the triple murder case, has fled to Malaysia. The incident occurred in his hujra.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, DIG Mardan Range Mohammad Ali Khan Gandapur said that a joint investigation team had been constituted which had expedited efforts to arrest the remaining culprits soon.
He said that the main facilitator, who helped landlord Nadar Khan flee abroad by arranging for him air ticket and residential facilities in Malaysia, was taken into custody at the Islamabad airport on his return. He said that the main facilitator was under interrogation.
The DIG said that 30 suspected persons, including five facilitators of the main accused, had been arrested so far in the triple murder case who were under investigation.
He said that the vehicle which accused Nadar Khan used to reach airport had also been recovered.
He said that the police had written letters to the State Bank of Pakistan, Nadra and other relevant departments, asking them to freeze accounts of the accused Nadar Khan, block his CNIC and also seize properties of other assailants.
DIG Gandapur said that section 7-ATA had also been included in the case. He said that joint investigation team comprised officers of police and other secret agencies.
