Medical stores enhance prices in Sialkot

SIALKOT: The local medical stores have announced increase in the prices of medicines between 20 and 35pc despite the government’s claims to the contrary.

Most medical store owners have also created artificial shortage of drugs. There are complaints that the price of insulin has been enhanced from Rs600 to 860 after the budget and that it is short in the government hospitals.

Patients on Thursday staged a demonstration against increase in the prices by the medical stores and unaailability of essential drugs.

Human rights activists Shahid Mir, Ghazala Adnan, Aliya Hina and Lala Mubashar Hussain have expressed concern over the situation and demanded that Chief Minister Usman Buzdar take notice of the arbitrary increase in the prices of the medicines.
