Medical stores increase prices in Sialkot
SIALKOT: The local medical stores have announced increase in the prices of medicines between 20 and 35pc despite the government’s claims to the contrary.
Most medical store owners have also created artificial shortage of drugs. There are complaints that the price of insulin has been enhanced from Rs600 to 860 after the budget and that it is short in the government hospitals.
Patients on Thursday staged a demonstration against increase in the prices by the medical stores and unaailability of essential drugs.
Human rights activists Shahid Mir, Ghazala Adnan, Aliya Hina and Lala Mubashar Hussain have expressed concern over the situation and demanded that Chief Minister Usman Buzdar take notice of the arbitrary increase in the prices of the medicines.
SHOT DEAD: A man allegedly shot dead his daughter over honour at Manzoor Colony of Shakargarh city on Thursday.
Police said the woman had returned to her parents’ house after her divorce. Her father shot her dead on suspicion of her activities.
The police shifted the body to the Shakargarh THQ Hospital for autopsy and arrested the suspect.
