Gun battle in Dadu leaves four dead
DADU: Four people were killed and as many wounded in a clash between armed men belonging to the Chandio and Solangi communities in Mohammed Shah Colony here on Saturday.
They used hot words with each other and it turned into a major clash. Resultantly rifles and guns were used freely, causing the deaths of four persons and injuries to four more persons.
It was learnt that the two sides had a heated argument over fixing of a hook in the main line in the Workshop area to steal electricity. The argument turned into a fistfight and then both sides took up positions and started trading fire.
The gun battle left four persons — Babloo Solangi, Asghar Solangi, Azeem Chandio and Sono Chandio — dead and four others — Anwar Solangi, Ghulam Mustafa Solangi, Amir Chandio and Munir Chandio — wounded. The victims were taken to the Dadu Civil Hospital, where condition of all wounded men was stated to be critical.
A strong contingent of the A-Section police was deployed in the area to bring the situation under control.
