Protest held in Gwadar against loadshedding

GWADAR: Hundreds of workers of political parties and citizens belonging to different walks of life staged a sin-in in the port city of Gwadar on Monday against 18-hour loadshedding across the Makran division.

The call for the protest was given jointly by the Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal), Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl, Jamaat-i-Islami, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, National Party, Pakistan Peoples Party and an association for local traders to express their anguish against long hours of loadshedding in Gwadar and other towns and cities of Makran division.

Carrying placards and banners the protesters led by leaders of these parties first marched on different roads of the port city and later staged the sit-in outside the office of Gwadar’s deputy commissioner. They chanted slogans against the Quetta Electricity Supply Company (Qesco).
