Punjab govt to set up cardiology hospital in Quetta: Buzdar

QUETTA: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said here on Sunday that his government has allocated funds for a cardiology hospital in Quetta and its construction would begin soon.

Talking to newsmen after offering condolence to provincial Health Minister Mir Nasibullah Marri on the death of his sister, Mr Buzdar said that the Punjab government would fulfil its promise for establishing a cardiology hospital in Quetta.

Balochistan Governor retired Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai, provincial ministers Mir Nasibullah Marri, Abdul Rehman Khetiran and Mohammad Khan Lehri, the chief secretary and other senior officials were present on the occasion.

The Punjab chief minister said his government had planned to establish a modern cardiac hospital in Dera Ghazi Khan with latest equipment and best treatment facilities and Rs4 million would be allocated for the hospital which would provide maximum treatment facilities to the people of the area.

“This hospital will also provide treatment to the people of Balochistan, who at present go to Multan for such facilities,” Mr Buzdar said.

He said he would soon inform Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani about the steps the Punjab government was taking for the development of Balochistan.

Earlier, the Punjab chief minister was received at the Quetta airport by the provincial ministers and chief secretary. He went to the residence of Health Minister Mir Nasibullah Marri and condoled with him on the death of his sister.
