'When it comes to the competitive landscape, we are ahead of competition,' says Chief Tech Officer Jazz
Winning the Ookla Speed Test for the past three quarters, Jazz Chief Technology Officer, Khalid Shehzad, shares his take on how he thinks the brand was able to reach and sustain this level of success without fail.
Here's Khalid Shehzad's detailed account of experience and ambitions for Jazz and Pakistan's rapidly-booming technology sector:
As one of the largest digital service providers of Pakistan, Jazz, according to Khalid, has always put its product at the forefront, and that is the brand's competitive advantage in Pakistan's market.
Khalid says Jazz covers 80% of the population with 2G and 60 to 70% population with 3G/4G.
One of the main coverage problems faced by a brand like Jazz remains with consumers' limited access to the right devices; many of Pakistan's remote cities and areas fail to come into Jazz's coverage fold because inhabitants are either too few in number or the devices available to them are average at best.
Discussing how Jazz intends to help expose students in Pakistan to bigger opportunities in the field of technology, Khalid indicated that the brand runs special internship programs and workshops for different universities and schools each year; most interns are given employment opportunities at the organisation upon graduation.
The organisation also aims to increase women's participation in the field of technology.
