LAHORE: Cricket Australia (CA) Chairman Earl Edings and Chief Executive Kevin Roberts will visit Pakistan from Sept 16-18 while England and Wales Cricket Board Chief Executive and a director will visit Pakistan in October. This was stated by Chairman PCB Ehsan Mani in the 55th BoG meeting which held here on Friday.

A surplus budget of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the remaining ten months of the fiscal year 2019-20 was also approved while a nomination committee has also been formed to recommend independent directors for the Board of Governors .

According to the approved budget from Sept, 2019 to June 30, 2020, the excess of income over expenditure after tax is mentioned as Rs 372,685,606.

According to further details, the PCB expects an income of USD 9.97m from media rights of bilateral series and USD 13.5m from the ICC distribution. The revenue from marketing department, mainly includes USD 2.7m against sponsorships and gate money from bilateral series and domestic tournaments. However, no sponsorship income from the new domestic cricket structure is budgeted.

Moreover, Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise fee is also computed at a fixed rate of 160 and central pool revenue sharing at percentage prescribed in the franchise agreements. With respect to PSL, all its matches are budgeted in Pakistan, the entire amount of TV production charged to the central pool, all match fee and players’ personal accident insurance cost charged to franchises besides terrorism insurance. Like past practice a provision of PKR 100m is made in annual budget to cater for unbudgeted series, events and expenses throughout the year.

Moreover, according to the amended PCB Constitution’s clause 41, the BoG formed a three-member committee to recommend the names of independent directors. “To strengthen the governance structure of the PCB and in accordance with Clause 41 of the PCB Constitution 2019, the Board of Governors constituted a three-member Nominations Committee.

“The committee will be chaired by Asad Ali Khan and will comprise Shahrez Abdullah Khan and Bakhtiar Khawaja (independent) as members. PCB Senior Legal Counsel, Barrister Salman Naseer, will act as secretary of the committee. The committee will be responsible for making recommendations to the BoG on the appointment of four independent directors to the BoG, Election commissioner, Deputy election commissioner and adjudicators,” a PCB press release stated on Friday.

“Amongst the four independent directors, there will be, for the first time in the PCB’s history, a female director. The BoG also approved the Nominations Committee Terms of References (ToRs),” it further said.

“The BoG was presented with the proposed territorial regions of each Cricket Association as well as PCB domestic season 2019-20, which were approved unanimously. The details will be announced at Saturday’s unveiling of the domestic cricket structure 2019-20,” it further said. The BoG approved various recommendations of Audit Committee including the PCB’s central budget for the 2019-20 financial year.

“PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan updated the BoG on the outcomes of the PCB Cricket Committee meeting which had met on Aug 2 to review the Pakistan cricket team’s performance in the last three years, including the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019. The PCB Chief Executive also briefed the BoG on the ongoing recruitment process for the team’s players support personnel.

“Following constitutional changes, the BoG also reviewed and approved the revised powers and functions of the PCB Chairman, Chief Executive, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer,” it added.

The meeting was chaired by PCB chairman Ehsan Mani. Others who attended as members were Asad Ali Khan, Lt. Gen. (R) Muzammil Hussain, Kabir Ahmed Khan, Imran Farookhi, Muhammad Ayaz Butt, Shahrez Abdullah Khan, Shah Dost, Akbar Durrani (Ex-Officio) and Wasim Khan as Chief Executive, PCB.
