323 stations ‘sensitive’ in Nankana, Sheikhupura

SHEIKHUPURA, July 31: As many as 323 polling stations, out of the 1,546 in Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib districts, have been declared sensitive, it is learnt.

Around 933 polling stations and 2,696 booths have been set up in Sheikhupura while 613 stations and 1,547 booths established in Nankana Sahib.

Sheikhupura Assistant Election Commissioner Majid Sharif Dogar said on Sunday 2,336 presiding officers, as many polling officers and 6,770 assistant presiding officers would perform their duties during the local elections. There are 9,89,713 registered voters in Sheikhupura.

As many as 613 presiding officers and as many polling officers would perform their duties in Nankana Sahib where the number of registered voters is 610,287, AEC Javed Iqbal Chattha said.

Nankana Sahib District Police Officer Tahir Aalam Khan told this correspondent that all SDPOs and SHOs had been directed to ensure law and order during the polls. Police officials had been deputed in all polling stations and booths, he added.
