Volleyball team to leave for Iran on Wednesday
ISLAMABAD: A 19-member Pakistan squad will leave for Iran on Wednesday to participate in the Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship.
The 20th edition of the championship is scheduled to be held in Tehran from September 13 to 21.
Pakistan have been placed in Group ‘D’ along with South Korea, Indonesia and Kuwait. They will face four-time champions South Korea in their inaugural match on September 13. In their second fixture they will take on Indonesia on September 14, while their third outing will be against Kuwait on September 15.
The top eight from the championship will go through to the AVC Men’s Volleyball Olympic Qualification Tournament, to be held early, next year.
