Thousands take entry test for MBBS, BDS

KARACHI: Thousands of candidates took the entry tests for MBBS and BDS courses held in different cities of Sindh on Sunday.

In Hyderabad, the entry test for admission in MBBS and BDS courses offered by the Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMHS), Jamshoro, was held at the Public School Hyderabad under strict security arrangements.

According to a statement issued by the LUMHS, the test was conducted under the National Testing Services (NTS). A total of 7,954 candidates appeared in the test for 350 seats of MBBS and 100 seats of BDS.

LUMHS Vice Chancellor Prof Bikha Ram Devrajani supervised the arrangements along with other faculty members.

Students from 14 districts appeared in the tests which were also held in Larkana, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad and Karachi simultaneously.

A girl student fell over due to low blood pressure. She was administered a drip to control her blood pressure and allowed to use a sofa where she sat comfortably to solve the question paper.

Results of tests would be made available online.

In Nawabshah, the the Peoples University for Medical and Health Sciences (PUMHS) arranged its entry test for admission in the MBBS at its new campus near Qazi Ahmed road. The university has offered 250 seats in the 2019-20 batch.

PUMHS Vice Chancellor Dr Gulshan Ali Memon told reporters that almost 1,700 candidates appeared in the entry test conducted by the NTS.

He said out of the 250 seats, 165 were on merit, 39 on self-finance and 46 were for foreigners.
