Dengue under control in Haripur, Swabi
HARIPUR/SWABI: Eight dengue patients in Haripur and 11 in Swabi are getting treatment in major hospitals of the two districts.
In Haripur, additional deputy commissioner Baidullah Shah said that dengue was under control as only 60 dengue positive patients had been reported during the last two months, while only eight of them were still under treatment in the local hospitals.
Mr Shah was briefing mediapersons on dengue situation on Tuesday.

Tanoli and in-charge dengue prevention programme Dr Sher Bahadur were also present on the occasion.
Mr Shah said that the health facilities across Haripur had registered 159 suspected patients and 60 of them were diagnosed as dengue positive.
He said that 52 of them had been discharged after their full recovery, while only eight were under treatment at the DHQ hospital’s isolation ward.
He said that there was no death because of dengue in the district.
He said that all the preventive measures had been taken to control dengue while the government hospitals had the needed medicines and beds for treatment of dengue patients.
In Swabi, district health officer Dr Niaz Mohammad said that a total of 11 dengue-affected patients were admitted to the local hospitals.
Among them, seven have been admitted to the Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansaoor, and four in tehsil headquarters hospital, Razaar.
He said that so far 69 patients were admitted to Bacha Khan Hospital and 58 of them had recovered and discharged.
He said that the patients mostly belonged to Naranji, Gadoon Amazai mountainous belt and Topi areas.
The local people have, meanwhile, demanded increasing the number of health teams and anti-mosquito spray in their respective areas.
