Opinion: Our planet is calling out to us
Global warming is just a polite way of nature of warning us of the malicious consequences that result from the pollution of Mother Earth by the human race. These deeds include, but are not limited to, deforestation, over-usage of plastics, burning of garbage, car exhausts that produce greenhouse, and the hazardous gases emptied from factories. They all may not directly lead to global warming, but everything and anything that is harmful to the environment always leads to global warming, making it the biggest issue that we need to be worried about right now.
Along with posing so much danger to ourselves, we humans are destroying the lives of millions of other species that breathe the same filthy air as we do. And without even realising it, we have the audacity to complain about the climate changes taking place at an alarming rate.
I would love to be as polite as global warming and break the bad news gradually, but everyone knows what this is leading to. The world is changing, and not in the best way. It won’t be long before all life, as we know it, is wiped off the face of this planet.
Now, some of the effects have already begun to show and climate change is the biggest issue nowadays. The merciless sun is being ruthlessly allowed to keep us hostage in its evil wrath, due to which, many skin diseases pose great harm to the bearers. However, it doesn’t end there, rivers and lakes are drying out, and plants and animals are struggling to survive.
It doesn’t sound like a big deal everyone probably reads these harsh truths every day, everyone reads about it so often, none of it matters anymore. Most of us do tend to realise the reality, which is definitely a good sign. The real deal is to actually get up and do something about it, because that’s what counts in the end, right?
We can promise ourselves that we will never cut down trees; it’s also very easy to promise ourselves that we’ll always recycle, never throw garbage on the ground, and walk to school instead of using any means of transport. We can promise, but it’s not as easy when it comes to implementing, now is it? Most people have this major misconception that one person can absolutely not make a difference. Whether that difference is positive or negative, it is thought to be negligible. But there is a first time for everything.
If we don’t start the change today, somebody’s got to do it someday, so might as well stop waiting for that day like damsels in distress and wake up today, right now. We don’t need knights in shining armour to save us; we are the knights in shining armours ourselves! Our home, our planet is calling out to us, and nobody can turn it down when it needs our help. We need to make that long sought-for change. We need to be that change. So let’s not be the villains of our own story and be heroes, for ourselves, and for our beloved Mother.
