Chaman border closed due to Afghan polls

QUETTA: The Pak-Afghan border near Chaman remained closed throughout the day on Friday in the wake of Kabul’s decision to close its borders as part of security measures during the presidential elections.

Voting will be held in Afghanistan for the election of next president of the country on Saturday (today) when the Friendship Gate border crossing near Chaman will remain closed.

Security officials in Chaman said that there was no vehicular traffic and trade activity at the border on Friday and the same situation would also prevail on Saturday.
