FIA raids office of video leak case accused

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)’s counter-terrorism wing raided the office of an accused in the accountability judge’s video scandal case and confiscated documents, videotapes, cameras and weapons.

Advocate Arshad Jadoon, the counsel for the accused, told Dawn that the FIA raided the office of his client and confiscated two Kalashnikovs and a pistol, which were licensed.

The officials also confiscated some documents, videotapes, cameras and mobile phones from the office in G-13, he said, adding his client lived in Rawalpindi.

The counsel said the raid was conducted in response to a petition filed in Islamabad High Court. He said the IHC chief justice had issued directives to the FIA not to harass the accused and his family. The FIA arrested one of the nephews of his client and charged him with cheating and fraud.

He said the FIA officials were also harassing other nephews of his client by asking them to appear before them in the name of investigation.

A contempt of court petition will be filed against the FIA in the high court on Monday, he added.
