Land acquisition for Rescue 1122 centres begins in Kohat

KOHAT: Additional deputy commissioner Shah Nawaz has said that the process of purchasing land for the service centres of Rescue 1122 is in progress.

A statement issued here said that the deputy commissioner was trying his best in this regard, but some unforeseen problems were delaying the procurement of land for the last two years.

Meanwhile, the administration of Rescue 1122 said in a statement that their goal was to provide emergency services on the doorstep of the people.

The emergency officer, Ishfaq Hussain, thanked the local government, commissioner, deputy commissioner and additional deputy commissioner for their cooperation in the procurement of land for its five service stations in the district.

He said that on the orders of the Director-General Rescue 1122, Dr Khateer Ahmed Khan, the spokesperson of Rescue 1122, Kohat, Syed Adnan Shah had been suspended for giving wrong information to the media regarding the issue of land requisition.

GAS CONNECTIONS: Adviser to the chief minister on education MPA Ziaullah Bangash has asked the manager of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited to stop giving connections on personal likes and dislikes.

Taking notice of public complaints about low gas pressure during night and delay in giving connections, he demanded action against SNGPL manager Adnan Khan.

In a statement issued here, the MPA said that he would take action in favour of the people and not the department.

PROTEST: Afghan students took out a rally on Saturday against denial of admission to them in Kohat University of Science and Technology.

The students of Ghamkol refugee camps No 1, 2 and 3, Cheechanna, Ublan and Ghulam Banda took part in the rally.

They also held a meeting in which student leaders Shams Aziz, Yaqoob Khan and others said that according to the Higher Education Commission’s rules a quota had been fixed in every university, but unfortunately the university had adopted a step-motherly attitude towards them.
