Doctors boycott work in Sehwan
DADU: Young doctors and paramedical staff boycotted work in outpatient departments (OPD) of Syed Abdullah Shah Institute of Medical and Health Sciences in Sehwan on Wednesday in protest against an incident of manhandling of staff and security officials by two persons.
Talking to Dawn, Paramedical Staff Association president Syed Shahzeb Shah said that two men had issued threats of dire consequences to the staff and security officials at the institute. They were caught and handed over to Sehwan police, but police released them after receiving a huge bribe, he alleged.
Young Doctors Association president Dr Hamid Qureshi said the life of doctors and staff was not safe. Security staff and officers of the institute had gone to Sehwan police station to register FIR against the miscreants, but police refused to lodge their complaint and instead released them.
Meanwhile, following directives of a civil judge, an FIR was lodged at Sehwan police station under sections of 353, 506/2, 509, 504, 186, 34 PPC against Mohammad Bux and Kamran Ahmed.
