Cook-it-yourself: Moistest chocolate mug cake
I am a fan of mug cakes and meals. I love trying out new mug recipes mainly because they are easy to make and great for those odd times when you need to have just a little bit of something nice. And you can easily make these without taking anyone’s help and usually with the ingredients available at home.
When I came across the recipe I am sharing today, it claimed to be the ‘moistest chocolate mug cake’ and I didn’t really believe the claim until I tasted it. Yes, it is the moistest chocolate mug cake I have ever made or tasted. Actually it is the yummiest chocolate mug cake ever!
Many mug cakes and desserts are disasters because not all recipes can get the right blend of ingredients in tablespoons to offer the perfect taste and texture. And there is always the chance of overcooking in microwave where even five or 10 seconds extra can make the texture hard and dry.
I followed the recipe faithfully and it said to cook for 70 seconds, which I did. But the centre was very wet so I cooked some more, a total of two minutes, to get it fully cooked, but a little on the moist side. So you can start with 70 seconds and if you need to cook it more (which you will know if you just dig inside with a spoon to see if it is cooked through) then cook for 10 or 20 seconds at a time until it is done.
