Typhoid on the rise in Sukkur, Rohri
SUKKUR: Typhoid has turned into an epidemic here and in Rohri as a large number of children between the age of one and 15 years are visiting hospitals.
In view of the increasing number of typhoid cases, provincial coordinator Dr Rehan reached here and visited Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) centres in Rohri and Sukkur along with EPI project director Dr Akram Sultan and a team of doctors.
The Sindh government has decided to take preventive measures and vaccination programme will be conducted from Nov 18 to 30.
At a meeting held in DHO’s office attended by Sukkur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ghulam Murtaza Shaikh, Dr Rehan directed vaccinators to play their role effectively to counter the disease. Later, in a meeting with the DC, his cooperation was sought to deal with the situation.
