HYDERABAD: Two polio cases in Sindh

HYDERABAD, Aug 8: The EDO, health, has said 12 polio cases have been registered in the country, including two cases in Sindh – one in Larkana and the other Sanghar. EDO Dr Nazar Mohammad Junejo was speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Sunday. District focal person Dr Jamil Ahmad and WHO representative Dr Domicina were also present.

Dr Junejo stressed the need for sticking to the routine immunization programme to eradicate polio. He said this could only be ensured through public participation and appealed to people not to adopt a casual attitude towards the health of their children. He said a three-day campaign against polio would be launched from Nov 9 in which mobile teams of the health department would visit every house to administer polio drops to children.
