Tareen urges govt, protesters to stick to agreement

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s senior leader Jahangir Tareen says the opposition parties must not violate the agreement signed with the government and the government also abide by its commitment and give a clear passage to the Azadi March protesters on their way to Islamabad.

Speaking to media persons here on Sunday, Mr Tareen said the opposition leader in National Assembly had always made tall claims but the PML-N government had ruined the economy. He said the PTI government was now mending the ruined economy.

He said the opposition parties including the JUI-F would have to wait till 2023 for the next general election because the public had given five-year mandate to the PTI. He said the PTI would be ready to contest election under army’s supervision or without it.

Mr Tareen said the PML-N had survived in politics just because of the support of the army. He said the PML-N leaders should remember that Gen Jillani had trained Nawaz Sharif in public speaking and added that the PML-N leaders should refrain from speaking ill of the army.
