‘PSL one of the top cricket competitions’
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Super League (PSL) is one of the best competitions in world cricket currently, according to South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir praising the tournament’s potential to prepare Pakistani youngsters in becoming world-class talents.
“The standard of cricket has been very high in PSL and it has the potential to groom Pakistani youngsters who already have the potential to become world-class talents,” cricketaddictor.com quoted Imran as saying.
Imran, one of the top bowlers in the shortest format of the sport, also confirmed his availability for the upcoming edition of the PSL. Despite partial concerns regarding security conditions in Pakistan, Imran, who was born and raised in the country, said it was not a problem for him.
“I enjoyed my stint with Multan Sultans for a couple of years and also got great support from head coach Tom Moody and Mohammad Wasim and also had a good rapport with Shoaib Malik and Wasim Akram, which developed my game,” said the legspinner.
“I will also be available for the entire PSL season in the upcoming edition. I always said I love to play in Pakistan.”
Imran ended his One-day International career at Old Trafford in Manchester after South Africa’s final game in the 2019 World Cup. Imran, however, would be available for next year’s Twenty20 World Cup in Australia.
