CM asks Centre for Balochistan’s share in Sui, Saindak projects

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has said that unlike previous heads of the provincial government, he is willing to talk to the federal government over the equal rights of the province.

Speaking to reporters at the inauguration ceremony of Siddique Baloch Media Academy at Quetta Press Club, the chief minister said he had told a federal committee that first they should give Balochistan’s share in the extension of Sui gas and Saindak copper gold project, and land for oil refinery in the coastal belt and then talk to him.

Jam Kamal said that he had met a team of Saindak project and asked them for a complete proposal, including increasing the share of the Balochistan government before giving the project extension.

“We are not going to deal over four pages. For instance, the former government agreed a deal with Hubco team over three pages without details,” he shared with reporters, adding that “in my government I will not repeat those mistakes”.

It is the utmost priority to give more attention to Balochistan, he added. “Now our decisions will be made in Balochistan in the best interest of people and we will not be part of any deal.”

“For the first time in Balochistan, we are equally carrying out development works in all constituencies,” he said.

The CM was accompanied by Health Minister Naseebullah Marri, Finance Minister Zahoor Buledi, and Home Minister Zia Langove.
