Problems due to smog

Smog is making things difficult for people these days. In our school, all our outdoor activities have been shifted indoor, keeping us protected from harms of poor air quality.

This isn’t just happening in one city, but in many parts of our country. We are getting health problems such as asthma, lung infections and frequent bronchitis.

Not just this, but due to climate change, crop production has decreased and our natural ecosystem is also being affected.

This leads to natural disasters such as land erosion, flooding etc.

To stop this we can plant more trees. Schools should start a plantation programme, issue warnings to wear masks and gloves, and take suitable precautions.

Share what you have

This refers to the story “Share what you have” (November 23, 2019) by Minal Zubair.

The story was really interesting and I completely agree with the writer’s point of view.

Most of the toppers in schools have fame, but the knowledge that they keep within and don’t bother to share it with others is useless.

I suggest everyone of you to develop knowledge-sharing groups in your school. By doing that your knowledge increases and you become more confident, and others also benefit from your knowledge.

An act of kindness

This is with reference to the opinion “An act of kindness” by Hiba Khan (YW, November 16). The writer shared some nice thoughts about kindness.

Kindness is seeing the best in others when they can’t see it in themselves. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one. Always do things for people, not because of who they are or what can they do in return, but because of who you are.

If you want to feel calm, more optimistic and have improved feelings of self-worth, consider helping others by doing small acts of kindness because these can make a big difference in the lives of others. We must always have tolerance for others as that is the first step towards kindness.

Traffic rules

In our society, many people don’t have awareness about traffic rules. Mostly people violate traffic rules and that causes traffic jams as well as accidents. The government should give people awareness about traffic rules after which fines should be charged from everyone who violates a rule.
